Sure, there’s the iconic death of Bambi’s mom, but COME ON! She didn’t even have a name! Don’t give me that “The Great Princess of the Forest” stuff, Disney pros. That’s a title, not a name.

No. The biggest, darkest show of a Disney parent’s death was Mufasa’s. Betrayal, murder, false accusation, the bereaved son mind-jobbed into losing everything to guilt-ridden exile??? You could handle the drought in California with all the tears people have wept over this scene.

Definitely the most gut-wrenching part of that ol’ Circle of Life thingy we were all just singing about. I’m not sure if the writers named Scar after his eye, or the fact that he’d be responsible for scarring people for life.
