Some popular superheroes are incredibly old if you think about it. Batman and Superman were created in the late ’30s, making them adults for about 75 years now. Super old. What would some new, more relatable super characters be, though? If they arose from the smartphone radiation of today’s plugged-in, socially-connected culture? Let’s imagine some… […]
After Robin Williams died, I was unreasonably distraught. In the context of all things, I never actually knew the man and only saw him as much as one could say they’d seen a ghost around San Francisco and Marin County. But he was ever-present. I remember seeing him around town in Marin County. I remember […]
I feel like a baller if I hit any part of a trashcan or laundry basket I’m aiming for, and IF I MAKE IT? Well that’s like winning the World Olympics Stanley Series Super Championship Cup for me. I’m a nerd (if that wasn’t evident), so it also makes me feel telekinetic. The reason for […]
Sometimes it’s easier to soften something by comparing it to something way worse. School can be one of those tough somethings. As our kids go back to school parents and/or kids can dread it. But there’s that great quote that goes: “If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d […]
Of course we had to do it. Aside from being nominated several bazillion times, the ALS ice bucket challenge has evolved explosively into a cultural and global phenomenon that we’ve been delighted to witness. From celebrities to the people next door, there have been so many inspiring, clever, and not so clever or inspiring (yikes) […]
Driver safety is something you probably thought you’d never have to revisit after narrowly passing your driver’s license test, right? Wrong. Aside from texting or messing around with your phone, there’s a vast number of things that people shouldn’t need to be told not to do while driving but seem to need to be told […]

You’ve probably seen some of the pics from our friends at awkwardfamilyphotos.com, but you’re missing out if you haven’t seen the hilarious titles, captions and backstories that go with the crazy photos. Their site is like the Smithsonian of utterly terrible […]
My wife is so considerate. She’s always so polite and dainty like a Victorian lady twirling a parasol. Unless she happens to be wrestling a particularly stubborn pickle jar or battery compartment, then she’s more like a sailor-mouthed ex-con with anger management issues. But mostly it’s pinkies out and poots in private. Too cute. Regarding […]
Babywearing and parents go together like apples and cheese. Wait, is that only me? It’s a thing, I promise. Anyway, wearing babies is not only an amazing, comfortable way to be mobile with your bundle of boy or girl, it’s also fashion forward. Or forward facing, if you will. But you have to do a […]
Oh my goodness. OH MY GOODNESS. THIS VIDEO IS ALL THE CUTE. I mean I thought I got giddy about NASA and space exploration and interstellar stuff, but this? “ISSAWOCKETSHIIIIIIIIP!” doesn’t even begin to describe the awesome. Check it out. Your cute for the whole week in one small dose. It’s like alcohol. A little […]
