We usually have enough guilt, as parents, to travel to the sun and back on our rocket boosters of regret. We can barely hear our grown kids say “I hate you” without our soul crumpling into a speck. Both Andy and I know we aren’t perfect parents with our respective families. It’s obvious, to me at least, that I do an okay job but I would never kid myself about being the ultimate dad. If there were contests or spelling bees to crown someone as a great dad, I’d lose out to some fanny pack-wearing mommy-dad. Hands down.
I’d like to be better. Maybe we should actually institute these employee reviews because let’s face it: we’re employees here and our employers are tough customers.

Cheap Toddler Activities… #7
We did a series of videos on cheap ways to rock out with your kids. It’s tough to continually find new ways to trick, distract, entertain or otherwise delay your kids from going full-on ballistic, heat-seeking missile into trouble. As far as we know, that’s particular to boys. But maybe that’s because we each have boys only, little girls may turn into weapons-grade trouble as well.

So, we thought that today, marking the birth of our channel on Kin Community, would be the perfect time to show you our video version of that chart and give a chance for anyone with less of an attention span to get the same “helpful” advice. It’s a channel designed just for women, so this is our contribution. Our channel is like “The View” except with a jock strap and NERF guns. Go figure…
The two of us wouldn’t trade seeing our respective sons come into this world for anything. I know I wouldn’t have let anything stop me from watching my son actually being born. It changed my life.

For my notebook today, I decided to make a video. I did this for many reasons, not the least of which was time, but also because I wanted you to hear my thanks for all that you do, dear reader, directly from me.
It’s both remarkable and inspiring what you guys do, even the trolls. Writing a comment doesn’t just happen. Sharing our stuff on Facebook isn’t by accident. So, please… know that it keeps us going to hear from you when we’ve had 30 hours of sleep between the two of us for over a week.
Feeling like someone is listening is one of the most profound feelings a writer/artist/creative can have.
