How to Be a Dad

How to Be a Dad

The Wanted

Posted by , under SNAPSHOTS

Finn, this weekend after I put you on a timeout you said to me, “You don’t want me anymore?” If I never hear those words again in my life it will be too soon. We talked about why you thought that, what it means to be an older brother and then I asked you a question back. “Do you know why I became a father?” You didn’t know. So I told you, “So I could have you in my life. I became a dad so you and I could spend our lives together.” No matter what happens, no matter where I am — I will always love you and want you around. In case you didn’t know, you boys are on my most wanted list.

*blub!* I’m definitely going to steal this incase it comes up w my own kids.

  2. It’s so heartbreaking when a kid asks you if you want them or thinks that you don’t. Their emotions are so simple. Good/bad. Happy/Sad. Want/Don’t want. And every now and then, you run into this sort of thing. Makes me want to hug my son.
