My Kid Just Said… #50

We started watching Episode IV: A New Hope of Star Wars awesomeness. Finn is in. All the way. He did way better than I even anticipated.

After we finished our first round, he said this little gem above. There’s nothing better than watching your kids look at your childhood with their own eyes. Movies help us do that.

Today, we were watching a bit of Empire Strikes Back when an earthquake started rocking our living room in the middle of our viewing. Best special effects ever. And worst.

Oh dear Finn, you missed the point. If you had The Force, you could make OTHER people handle the tickling duties while you practiced one-hand handstands in the swamp.

To be fair, you’ll learn about that in Empire…

My kids are named Luke and Leia. It’s a really big decision for us when and how we show them Star Wars. How old is your son and how have you decided to deal with the prequels? 🙂

First Star Wars! Always a milestone.

Your kid is one up on mine. My daughter saw both Star Wars and Return of the Jedi when she was six, and has watched them both repeatedly since… but even at that tender age, she refused to watch The Empire Strikes Back. She somehow knew it was darker and scarier and more intense, even without seeing it.

(I suspect the Force is strong with her.)

  He really only had trouble with two parts: Han Solo freezing and Darth Vader meeting Luke. We talked through them before, during and after.
