Storming the Beaches

Posted under NOTEBOOK

Another installment from my Instagram account, @CharlieCapen where I capture thoughts, and release them back into the ether of Instagram. But mainly, it’s a journal for my two boys. Typos are free of charge.

“Finn: Today we woke at 6:30am and drove to the beach to see what answers we could find. Just the two of us. We rolled up our pant-legs and taunted the sea. We called to dolphins. We danced in the whitewater. When you fell down, after a wave grabbed you by the ankles, you asked me if you were almost carried out to sea. I told you my grip was stronger than a jealous ocean in one word: ‘Never.'”

Thanks for listening.

I really enjoyed reading this. Succinct and poignant it obviously carries meaning much deeper than a simple trip to the beach. I’m not a regular Instagrammer, but I’m following you now. Well done.
