Shortly after we found out we were going to have another baby, we dove into all the planning and working through what life would be like with two kids.
One topic kept coming up with friends and the few bits of literature we read on the subject: child regression. Older siblings would act like babies to get attention from their parents. We wondered if Finn would do it, too. But he never gave in. Sure, he had a few moments of frailty around our new member of the family, but they were usually pretty circumstantial. He was growing up.
Growing up is hard, not just for kids, but for those who brought them into the world. So, imagine my wife’s surprise when our eldest wanted “cuddles” for old time’s sake.
And for the record, I would never thumb my nose at the opportunity to tuck my son in for bed.
