Winnie-the-Hulk

What if A. A. Milne’s classic childhood character, Winnie-the-Pooh, had been the Incredible Hulk? I didn’t ask this question, I found its answer. I discovered this amazing series of watercolors from Charles Paul Wilson III, reached out and got his permission to share them with you here. I’ve written in simple, storybook captions because I just couldn’t help myself.

Winnie-the-Hulk lived in a forest all by himself.

One day when he was out walking, he passed a sign. He thought a long time, puzzled, and said, “Hulk know only reason for stuff is for smash.”

Later that day, he met a strange animal. A Wolver. After much bouncing and smashing together, the Wolver stood on his new friend’s big green belly, and growled, “Have I won?”

Winnie-the-Hulk laughed and said, “Gracious! Don’t make Hulk bothered. You wouldn’t like Hulk when Hulk bothered.”

All the bouncing and smashing made him very hungry, though, so he sat down and ate all the honey he could find. Some of his friends marched across a nearby bridge just in time to see him licking the very last drops.

Back in his friends’ laboratory, Winnie-the-Hulk got himself in a jam. “Help! Hulk stuck!” he pleaded to his friends. He’d simply eaten far too much honey for one Hulk.

Free at last from the Werm Hole Exparimunt, Winnie-the-Hulk stood alone in the forest. Suddenly, he heard a great big rumbly in his tumbly.

“Oh bother. Hulk hungry again.”

Have you seen Wookie the Chew by James Hance. It’s like this but Star Wars. Both are adorable! 🙂

I’ve known Charles for many years and have many of his prints. Super talented and such a nice guy! Marvel needs to take note.
