My Kid Just Said… #34

Posted by , under "MY KID JUST SAID..."

“Dis dinner tastes wike horse.” -Lucas (2013, 4 years old)

It was an insult so innocent and random that it wasn’t at all insulting; if it even was intended as a complaint. He made it sound like it was a positive thing. Unfortunately for my wife, our laughter was loud and long enough that he will most likely spend the next six months repeating this compliment about any food she prepares.

Luckily, my son knows what wine pairs best with horse.

  1. Haha! Yes we also suffer when we laugh out loud at the kids – they then put the joke on repeat for weeks! Horse is quite popular in France, maybe he’s just very cosmopolitan and european?!

OMG That made my coffee almost choke me! That is hilarious!

When my son was younger he was chubby and we used to tell him all the time that he was so cute and chubby. Until the day he looked at me with a huge smile on his face, gave me a kiss and said, “Momma you are so chubby.”

He thought it was a compliment, me not so much.

A couple years ago, my daughter was “helping” me pick out what clothes to wear:
    Her, “What about this top?”
Me, “No, that doesn’t really fit, it’s a little too small.”
Her, “Mom! Get rid of it!! Why would you keep something too small? It’s not like you will get any smaller!”

  5. Jo says:

Out of the mouths of babes, eh?!? They do say the damnedest things!
