Our Baby Hiccups

My wife texted (cause that’s a word, right?) me this video from home yesterday.

It all becomes so much more real when you see the heartbeat or watch them move. My little boy is bouncing around in there somewhere. He’s growing and developing. Most of the ultrasounds have had ample placenta covering his face, but the one time we did see his little visage, the boy definitely looked more like Avara.

Coming up with a name for this guy has been harder this time around. Boy names are tough in general. I’ve even thought about holding a poll on here for his name like some sort of weird Truman Show-esque stunt. But I’m not that crazy. Yet.

Only now am I remembering how hard sleep was with Finn. He woke up every two hours for about 12+ months. By the time he actually slept more than it takes to watch a movie, we were all so spent.

Here’s hoping Prince (for lack of a better nickname) will roll up in his little red corvette and want to take ample naps.

    Love baby belly videos!

I have one from 2 days before my 2nd babe was born, but it is more alien-esque than Hallmark Moment like this one. I’ll keep my video forever!

Up until we knew the gender and picked out a name we called our baby, “Baby Stegosaurus” we had gone down to the airport to pick up my parents from their flight, and there were little plastic dinosaurs in the gift shop, yes I spent way too much money buying a plastic stegosaurus that sits next to the tv awaiting baby #1.

Pregnant with # 2 now and couldn’t agree more that it is much harder to come up with a name this time around! Good luck!

We have a video of my daughter when I was 8 months pregnant kicking around and trying to push her way out – visible hand protruding and all! It’s the creepiest, coolest, most whacked out thing ever imaginable!

  • Jessi says:

We easily had girl names both pregnancies. Baby #1 was a boy, and by the time Baby#2 came around her intended name was on the top ten lists. No thank you! One more reason we found out the gender – plenty of time to brain storm before baby arrives!

Before we knew the gender of my daughter, her nickname was “Spud”. On our first ultrasound she looked like a chick wearing a football helmet. In one of the later ones she had a huge distended belly and her arms and legs looked like twigs. Both were freaky and I spent most of my pregnancy worrying my perinatologist didn’t pick up something.

We were those irritating parents that decided our kids names should match.. Our oldest is Colton and when we got pregnant the second time we wanted to have a name that matched.. Turned out to be twins.. So now we have Colton, Cameron and Colin…. BAD IDEA! Seriously.. Cole, Cam and Col.. It’s way too much! Was cute when I was pregnant tho.

  • That is so cool and such a great reminder of what a miracle the whole thing really is.

  • NerdyLutheranChick says:

You could name him Cotton L.

  • NerdyLutheranChick says:

I don’t even have kids and I have a bunch of awesome boy names picked out but only a few girl names, I think boy names are easier!

  • Jo says:

I agree with NerdyLutheranChick!! Cotton L. Rocks!! 😉 See what she did there?!? Bahahaha…
