The Green-Eyed Monster: A Tour of Pixar & Monster University

Posted under NOTEBOOK

Remember when I said I was going to Monsters University on the prestigious Disney-Pixar campus?

I know. You were probably studying super hard for your Scare 101 finals and had 13 cups of coffee, but dudes, it was awesome.

At first, the thought of going back to college was a bit troubling. I didn’t have a great time the first go-round, but I hoped this school would be different. Maybe I would be among people who looked like me. Green, furry, tentacles. JUST LIKE ME!?

We arrived early to campus. There was a marching band playing and snare drums woke me from my haze. I felt refreshed.

We received our syllabus and course materials, and we were OFF.

Students matriculated from all over the world and we were the select few accepted for classes with instructors covering every aspect of the campuses creative process, from start to finish. We took our student photo (as seen above) and were quickly ushered into a theater.

There, we watched 40-50 minutes of their new film, Monsters University, and the short that will play before it, The Blue Umbrella. More on those later, but they were a tremendous.
