The Reaction We All Want

Going back to work has been really strange for me.

I wrote about that here for Buzzfeed last week.

I come home around 7-9pm each night, which, I know, is normal for most of us. But for me, having been around SO much… it’s a whole different deal. I’m dog tired. I’m overwhelmed. Life has gotten so much more… MORE.

If I had a choice, this is what I would want whenever I came home. Maybe it’s what you wanted too…

I was working my tail off when my first was 3 too. I have the “feels” now about that time.

Now it’s my husband who is working over time, but we are keeping Sundays pretty clear for some good family time so it’s working out.

The hubs also gets home late, and usually the kids are already asleep. I know it’s hard on him to never see them, and it’s hard on them too. Me, I’m looking forward to going back to work as I never wanted to be the parent who stayed home. He wants to get home, so hopefully things work out so we can switch soon!
*hugs to you, Charlie* if wanted/needed.

    That is beautiful.

I know how you feel man. I was home with mine for 2 months, then went back to work. Then my wife quit her job to stay home. Recently she got a job and so we’re both working again. It was definitely easier workload wise to have one of us at home.

In addition he’s starting to say and do things, and we can only assume it came from daycare because it’s nothing we’ve experienced in his presence. The feeling that someone else is raising my child sometimes makes me feel more distant from him, like I don’t know him anymore.

I work from home but I work overnight. That means despite being near my kids at all times I’m either working or sleeping. I actually want a day job…
